He was a member of the Kapenguria Six, along with Bildad Kaggia, Jomo Kenyatta, Fred Kubai, Paul Ngei, and Achieng Oneko. ==Arrest== Karumba was arrested in Kapenguria for assisting a proscribed society of Mau Mau, which led a revolt against British colonial rule.
